    Monarch Crest Trail

    ...is good to go.

High Valley Center shuttles have started running.

I just got back from a ride from town up to Marshall Pass then backwards on the Crest to Greens and down. No snow on that part of the Crest (oops. actually there is one patch that's probably 50 yards long just north of the Agate junction. Be gone soon, not a barrier). Ran into a friend who had just come through from Monarch Pass. He said there were three drifts, very cross-able. Standard first ride conditions on the Crest.

Please walk on and not around the snow. Thusly:

    That is all.

EDIT: Except for this, I descended Greens. Quite a bit more snow down there, even ~1000 feet lower than the shelter. But not enough to matter. A little messy.

Greens reminds me of the East Coast bombing rocky n rooty descents. Soo much love for Greens!

You know it's actually not one of my typical rides around here. Just did it on a whim today; did an eenie meenie miny mo deal at the top of Marshall (Starvation or Greens?).

Mainly wanted to see if what I'd been hearing about the Crest was true, but then I'll be danged if I didn't have a pretty good time riding that east coast boogie. Good chance to check whether you have adequate air pressure in your shocks.
