    Moab has thawed

Gentlemen, lube your chains. Moab has hit 40F degrees!

Between December 2 and February 12, Moab never made it to 40F degrees, not even once. Ten long weeks, with the temps way below freezing for most of that time, and below zero for some of the time. As of Friday, it finally hit 41F. Seeing as how the "normal" high for this time of year is 51F, it is about time.

I feel a road trip coming up....

Hmmm... I dunno about temp... but how's the mud situation? From my understanding they've received an unusual amount of snow this winter as well...

Yep, lots of snow which means lots of gumbo in the usual gumbo places when all that snow melts.

Still pretty muddy / slushy/ snowy except for a very few trails. Lots of places with frost heave slop. I'd give it another week or so, but even then a lot of the trails that are normally clear might not be.

Weather forecast is looking good for the coming few weeks.

    Moab conditions?

I'm guessing Fruita will be early to mid-March this year. Hoping Green Mtn dries out again in the interim.
