Mighty Whitey (New White Nomad Pics Inside)

Just took her on the maiden voyage, and I'm impressed! The stucco doesn't help pop the white color out..but what're ya gonna do?

Take a good look, cuz you're not going to see it this clean again! Hahaha

    is making a comeback.

Turns out that five years of not mountain biking, really makes one strive to get back to it.

Thanks Dave! I almost replied to your Hall Ranch post, but Dakota Ridge/Red Rocks is a heck of a lot closer.

no worries; i'm used to not getting much company during my weekday rides.

ended up just doing a quick up and back to the bench. ran into a guy on a real Bullit, and we prettymuch kept pace coming back down. makes it fun there, with another big bike.

back home in time to shower and chill out with some coffee before heading off to work.

    Totally weaksauce! Hahaha

Yeah, I have an e13 DRS, but the BB adaptor thingy won't fit over the BB threads (WTF!? It worked on my DHR and Sunday). I need to shave a bit off the inside, then it'll be ready to rock. But you know what? Say what you want about Shimano, but the shizzle works! And works well!! Crisp and precise shifting right outta the box. We're talkin' the front chainring/derailuer too. On a bike with 6.5" of travel? Again, I'm impressed.

Awwwwe dood! Trying NOT to make this too long, plus I may be up in Nathrop Sunday racing this exact bike (so we can chat then)....but we'll see.

Keeping it just to the frame, let's talk about the linkage. I think it all has to do with the VPP. Call me crazy. The two major things: Plush over square-edged bumps, and very little pedal-induced bobbing (even with the pro-pedal turned "off"). Oh that...and it climbs like a goat, carves great corners, hops, flicks, jumps like no other, and when you get the thing pointed downhill, that's when the $hit-eating grin takes over . In a nutshell: It's like riding your DH bike, but it's 10lbs lighter, can climb, and very easily manipulated. It ROCKS!

I came from a Superlight, so the same single-pivot that you have. And I think the first thing you'll notice is the feeling you get from pedaling over square edged bumps. It magically converts it to a regular bump!

Alright, anyway, is that enough to get your salivatory glands pumpin'?

... and if we just ... See they are not impossible to get!

Nice! I got a black one back in Oct. and love it.
Mine doesnt look brand new any more. It's been down porc rim 3x and horsethiefs 2x, plus about a dozen front range rides. it has battle wounds now!

Why did you go with that fork? You dont like the FOX 36?
    What weight are you at?
    Enjoy!

Oooooh. Nice! That thing sure is yummy! How come you didn't get it with a DHX-Coil? It would have been a bunch cooler if you did!

Yeah, pretty lame, I know. But long story short I wanted it with the DHX Coil (Believe me!), but it was just taking too long, so I said screw it, just give it to me as is. And here we are.

I do have plans to for a ROCO, though. Then I'll be PIMP! hahaha

Hey thanks! I'm already in love with it. I bet this bike just rules Fruity and Moab. So light and nimble, yet you've got plenty of travel if you want to go big.

Why did I go with a 6lb fork that has way more travel than any front range trail could ever throw at it? Because I could! Haha . Just kidding. Well it was a combination of things like the type of riding I like to do, the adjustability, the deal I could get on it, etc. I bought the frame only, so it's not like I told the shop to swap out the perfectly capable FOX36.

    I weigh 185.

Haha, oh the BIKES weight...well before I get into that, it has 2.5" Maxxis DH meat and burly-@ss Azonic Outlaw wheels. With that said, and my scale being a tiny little shipping scale: 35lbs.

Dude... Are you serious? How much money have you spent on bikes in the last 2 years? I'm guessing close to 20k.
