    Memorial Day Weekend...Who's Doing What?

I've got nothing planned, so I thought I'd see what other peeps are doing.

Angel Fire does open that Saturday. Lift assisted DH will be a mere 5 hrs away!
I have no idea what I'm talking about...But yeah, that sounds about right.

i'm only off sunday/monday, so not much. the fest in lyons (with whatever goes on sunday) and probably trying to ride higher up, up north if nothing happens sunday with the fest.

monday hanging out in boulder or whatever - the girlfriend is doing the whole bolder boulder thing this year. i'll probably ride from longmont into B and let her worry about parking the car there.

tuesday i'll be riding north/higher up again, weather permitting.

First trail as in someone hasn't ridden before, or good first trail as in "there will be a second trail?"
Take the long cut, we'll get there eventually.

Hmmmm....The Fest in Lyons looks promising. Has anyone else ridden the trail that they have planned to do on Sat? I've read the blog that the dude posted. Just trying to get another point of view.

The Sat ride will be fun. It's not a huge mileage loop, but the terrain is pretty steep so it'll take a while - especially given the fact that we'll have quite a few folks riding. No super long downhills, but we'll be in and out of a 1000ish' deep canyon a couple of times. Probably a couple hikes, too. Pretty much all of the climbing will be done on pimitive jeep road and 90% of the descending will be on trail. If you like primitive and steep backcountry riding, you'll like it. We'll hit some trails in the Miller Rock area before moving on.

No CS shuttles planned? Will the trails be too busy?

I think I'll try to join the fest in Lyons barring any unforeseen incidents (like a major hangover).

Oh yeah, I'm in on the shuttling of the CO Trail/Waterton Cnyn too. Pedaling up waterton canyon puts me to sleep...Zzzzzzz...

Angel Fire has a new DH trail - dubbed the Chupacabra. Should be open top to bottom for riding starting yesterday-ish. It will also serve as the new Chile Challenge course, and the World Cup course for later this summer. And YOU, sir, could ride it this weekend!
