Mountain biking on the front range on holiday weekends is like going to the bar on st. patricks day or new year's. I refer to these days as amateur nights!! Crowded with people who have no clue about trail etiquette. My favorites are a group of people stopped in the middle of a technical section and they see you coming and they just stand there and look at you or my other favorite, group of dawdler's changing a flat tire in the middle of a trail on a blind corner. Treat this weekend like you would if you were driving up to ski in summit county during march, get out early and beat the crowds. The weather should be a good curve ball to discourage people from getting out there.
We rode buff creek last weekend and it was packed!! I have never seen it so bad, hoping it was all the racer's checking out the course.
