    Lyons Area Rides

    /public service anouncement/

    Hey guys, just a forewarning...

I'll be doing another project in the Lyons area this summer. We're paving SH 7 from Raymond to Lyons (SH 72 ie, the Peak to Peak to where we skipped on 5th in Lyons last summer).

Just giving a heads up as I figure it'll affect people going up to the trailheads around Camp Dick, Hall Ranch, or just anyone that might also be a roadie and ride the South St. Vrain Canyon. We're starting on June 1, and it'll take us into September.

It should never get too bad, we'll only be dealing with 1/5th the traffic of 36.

    New guardrails, now new asphalt?

Seems alittle overkill. Oh, well, thanks for the heads up.

    thanks

Thanks for the headsup, yinyang. It'll be worth it if you replace all that damn chip seal with nice smooth black pavement. Keep those shoulders as wide as possible, eh?

Man I hear that! Damn, some fool goes OTE and now they put up guard rails on every turn?! As far as the pavement, why?
Gone are the days we stopped to decide,
    Where we should go,
    We just ride...

Working on the shoulders, rumor is another agency is looking at a real widening job between town and Hall too. We'll add back what the last few chip seals and overlays have skipped over (read anywhere from 6" to 2' in places).

This is neither the time nor the place to go into why we do guardrail jobs like that... However, if you're that pissed that they took a week or two to put in guardrail, you're going to hate a 60ish working day job up there.
