    Looking for some gnarly rides.

Hey everyone. I just moved to Denver from Miami Fl. I am looking to get into mountain biking. In Miami I did a lot of motocross and BMX so I like to speed, technical turns and jumps; especially jumps! I was hoping that some people could tell me where to find some good DH areas with some decent jumps, maybe 20-30 foot gaps.

Also, I am not really use to the thinner air yet so I often weeze like an asthmatic fat man. If anyone knows of fun places around Denver or Boulder where I don't have to pedal much, I would love that. Obviously I know I need to pedal up the hill. I am much more concerned about the ride down.

And again, my ride is a stock '98 Proflex 656 in great condition. I payed $200. Is this a good bike? Would it be a bad idea to upgrade the front suspension to a rig with 200mm of travel and a 29" tire while the back stays 26" with not more than 2 inches of travel? Would the head angle be too steep?

    Thanks for any help guys.

dude you need to hit green mtn (it is truely gnarly) - you'll need to max out your suspension for any ride in the front range.

It would be a good idea to get a new bike if you are going to be doing any serious downhill. Go to keystone or winterpark.

This is a joke, right? You are trying to have fun with us. The German expression would be 'verarschen'. Don't need you for that. We can do this ourselves. Go back to Miami and jump of off the beach. Dig a hole. Just leave us alone.

Yes. I'll hit up green mountain as soon as I get shoulder pads and bubble wrap.

Thanks for the welcome. How do you jump off a beach exactly? It is completely flat.

Take the Proflex to keystone buy a lift ticket and ride down the hill until it breaks. Hopefully you will get one full run in. Learn the hard way....You will respect the new bike when you buy it.

Whoa! This is my 69th post!

the proflex will work just as well as the idea of the empty dirtbike frame, so try that first maybe. I have heard of the 30'-40' gap jumps on Green Mountain and hear they are off the chain, check out the Bear Creek trail too (I hear they have gaps like 60'+...I can only do like 50(ish)' gaps)!! Maybe one day I could take that proflex off some super sweet jumps!! If the bubble wrap doesn't work I know of a bubble boy we could beat until he was to weak to protect his bubble!!...HEY?!...It is more cost effective than pads, right?!...
    Black Sheep...where it'ss at!!

    This guy is an alias.

But, if you want DH in Front Range, try riding your bike through a parking garage downtown. BE SURE TO START AT THE TOP!
