Looks like they've cleaned up the bottom 500 feet quite a bit since I last rode it a few months ago.
I know where I'll be riding on Sunday.
Thanks for the Stoke!! I enjoyed my ride at Betasso when I was out there last time!
BTW,,,,,,,, sweet bike!!

Darn Boulder County always sanitizing stuff
Thanks for the stoke. Looks a lot different than the bootleg trail it started as many moons ago. I should check that out one of these days.
I don't know what the trail was like before (can you believe that this was the first time I rode here in 2 years of living on Boulder?) but it was still fairly bumpy at the bottom.
I took the rough but faster line but the bike absorbs a lot of the trail. 29er wheels with burly Hans Dampf and 140mm of suspension will do that!
I also have vids of the canyon loop downhill, Benjamin loop and four mile connector.
Alas as it takes my decrepit computer 3 hours to encode 5 minutes of HD video it may take some time before I can post them.
The first stretch from the road (or last stretch in your vid) was, until recently, a loose, rocky, loose, steep, loose and rocky stretch. Not so bad coming down, but was pretty brutal going up. It has most definitely come a long way...

More stoke in the morning! Fourmile going in the other direction...

It's interesting reading the comments on how the trails have change. Keep it up.
I'll post you Caynon Loop and Benjamin Loop in the next few days.
Oh, I caught some videos of Betasso during the summer and they're insanely crowded, I guess that is why I've never ridden there before - I thought it was annoyingly crowded.
Anyway, last Sunday morning it was very quiet. Get out and ride it!

It is annoyingly crowded. No one should ever ride there. Besides, it's not much fun anyways.
Neither is Hall Ranch. Too many people there so I'd stay away.
People should also stay away from Marshall Mesa/Flatirons. After all it's very flat. Why would they want to ride there?
We should send everybody to Jeffco!
I was thinking about heading there today... but it's closed.
Take the long cut, we'll get there eventually.
Nice. I bet it is even drier after the past few days.
I would still ride it early morning though. Sunday only got to mid 40s and in the morning everything was nice and firm. By 11am the snow was beginning to melt and the trail was getting soft and a little muddy up top. I would imagine that this will only get worse with the warmer afternoon temps we're having.
Still, apart from the north facing and deep canyon trails there isn't that much snow around so its not a major problem.

I have one left to do - the Benjamin Loop. Please tell me if you are bored with these and you want me to stop posting....
Keep posting. They are some pretty good videos.Looks like nice riding bike.
I rode Betasso yesterday and the trail was in perfect shape. Nice and tacky with a couple of wet spots, but virtually no mud anywhere.
There were surprisingly few people on the trail in the afternoon too- my buddy and I passed 6-8 other bikers over the course of a two-hour ride. Max.
I call it trail surfing. There's always powder when you have that setup.

Okay here is one more. This one is the Benjamin loop.
Okay here is my last video from my Betasso "series". It's the loop link heading southbound (Benjamin to Canyon).
