like F'ing rats out there today

Green Mtn. was lousy with mtn bikers today. All over the place...and the wind... we really need to get a wind turbine farm going...we could power the whole country.

Anyways...pics from today and a little video of a new drop we found. Mad props yo to all the folks who've worked on Green. Getting sick good up thata way.

45-50-60 degree slopes aren't enough? What's next, rolling overhangs?

    That is sick.

I can't say I recognize where you are riding...but then I never ride walls. I understand the simple physics of freefall to a transition but my brain's survival instinct can't make it happen.

BTW, that third pic with the up-slope landing makes me go 'ouch.' Suspension test?

Is pic 3 a shot of Zilla showing off his levitation skills or is that landing as rough as it looks?

That drop is fun.... makes the re-route around the steep stairs a lot easier. I'm suprised it took you this long to find that one!

Wow. Green Mountain has changed a lot since I was there last. I might have to reconsider my declaration to never ride there again.

Did you see? The wind blew all the dirt off, and now we are left with lines that are more fun! I think you can see Dakota Ridge in the background of one of those shots.

Yeah, it was amazing he held on to it when the bike bucked up and back onto the line. It looked like one of those stop motion moments when Wily Coyote slams into the wall and hangs there before sliding down.

I had the feeling something was up out there.....I rode a geared FS for the 1st time in years yesterday....DR & Box o' Rox seemed much easier than my last run.

I guess all the wind blowing away the dirt smoothed it out a bit.

It's as rough as it looks - but Mountainbike Action says jumps and drops to uphill are the new white, so I couldn't resist.

The step up that I've got my nose buried into (on "Free Lunch" - north side of GM, right off Indiana & 6th) is a strange creature, I tried it 3 times with plenty of speed and the results were only slightly better than those shown. Great pics Kirk

Only a few weeks - there's that one steep north face, which still has a considerable amount of snow, but most of the trail is clear / dry.

Great pictures. I'm with lidarman- my survival insticts keep me away from such drops.

I'm obviously parking in the wrong parking lot at GM.

    Wile E. Check.

Dunno' how I escaped the ban hammer...my rugged good looks and sunny disposition I suppose. Of course, that's not enough to be invited to Yahoo but was enough to get me in the door of this sorry place.

I used to have that too. Then Godzilla found it and kicked the living shite out of it. Hardly makes a peep anymore.

No mushroom drops? Cmon now Godzeera. Yer jumping to uphill landings when perhaps the sweetest downhill tranny 3VAR on the planet (also one of blindest and puckering-est) was right there. The mushroom was staring you down as you guys sessioned the Breadloaf.
How about going straight off that rock in the 3rd pic, down into that mini-gulley a'la Double Down or some such Wixom vid? That is a spooky looking sniper landing/needle threader.

My name is going to come up here any minute, so I'll go ahead and admit that I talked him out of hitting the mushroom drop. That phocker is scary and I had another friend get a tib/fib break there when he overshot the tranny.

    Damn you Mr. Ferris!

Joetron - I went out there with every intention of hitting it, I was actually stoked that it looked smaller than I'd remembered - but talk of ruining the trip for everyone got the best of me.

You're right about the other landing in the third pic - "sniper" is an understatement, I'm not sure my jump-fu is that strong yet.
