Kokopelli trail - Condition after flood? Companion for a 2 day easy ride

Kokopelli trail - Condition after flood? Companion for a 2 day easy ride

I was planning on riding the kokopelli trail around sept 27-ish but u am flexible ( i live in Boulder)

First, i am not sure what is the condition of the trail after the rain

Second i am looking for ride companions. I am planning on riding the 140 miles in 2 days, at an easy moderate level.

    Thanks

Funny, I don't think most people would be able to ride at an easy/moderate level and complete such a big ride in 2 days. 3 days is pretty challenging. Better be sure your companions know what they're getting into.

exactly. I know that the pros/aliens around Boulder make the good athletes feel like they are mediocre, but there are plenty of others who are even more so.

No flood over there as I know. And in two days? What's your hurry? Are you thinking these are 140 road miles?

Thank for the info about the flood.
As far the the "speed", i don't want to clutter the forum with opinions.
    I figured 5-7mph average, from 7am till 7pm
I'll do it in 3 days if somebody is interested

No flooding on the western slope. We had our fair share of rain but nothing like the front range saw. I would assume the trail is probably fine.

From all I've understood, the west slope has been fairly soggy and still is (by their standards) but no flooding or major trail damage. I'd be considering how some of the trail is when it's wet. A lot of it's sandy and rocky but others section if I'm not mistaken are clay and would not be much fun to ride when wet.

It was dumping buckets of rain yesterday most of the way from just outside Moab through Idaho Springs especially between Westwater junction and Loma/Mack... it'll take a couple days to dry out- the forecast looks good for the rest of the week...
