    Invisible Bike Helmet

At first I thought it was a joke. But no it's for real, and quite ingenious. I would imagine its' application to MTB'ng cannot be too far off. Could be integrated into a Camelback I would think? Something to protect the kidneys and abdomen would be nice...

However not sure how cost effective it would be vs a good old plastic helmet.

reminds me of the avalanche pack. I'm thinking I would get too warm wearing it though.

And it's a one time deal. Not good for a fall 15 miles away from anywhere. And with MTB, falling is a fairly regular occurrence, so....

guessing it has some type of inertial gauge, and whenever the movement of the device exceeds a given amount in a given amount of time....it deploys.

would be quite awkward to have an 'almost crash' moment, barely save it....and get a head full of airbag in the process.

or on the other hand....if you get hit by a bus from the side that you don't see coming, i'm thinking the deploy time wouldn't be fast enough to save you.

If it deploys with an almost-crash, keep wearing it inflated to the end of the ride :]
