The Inflexibles Night Ride Colorado Springs April 24, 2013

Now that I am fully recovered from last week's meetup, this Wednesday has my full attention. Tuesday might bring a little snow/rain. Temps and precip for Wednesday looks decent. I could really use an easy weather day this week.

I don't remember any talk of where to ride this week, nor do I remember anything else from last Wednesday, but perhaps you guys do? I can tell you that I don't really want to ride Jacks, purely out of repetition. Would Limbaugh be doable you think? I could go for Ute possibly..

Based on an earlier post regarding Monument conditions, I think the upper stuff like Limbaugh is out right now (even the lower stuff is muddy).

I would really like to ride somewhere other than Jacks or Section 16, but those might be the best choices if we get more precip tomorrow. We could always do another SiS ride (Stay in Stratton). I'd say that we should be flexible and decide tomorrow or Wednesday where the best place will be. I definitely agree that Jacks has been in the playbook a lot lately so I'd prefer an alternative if this system misses us.

How about up High drive & upper Jacks and down 666, we have never done this combination.

Are you saying ride up Jacks? I don't know if that has ever been spoken before. It sounds wrong.

I think nick has a good idea here.

After climbing High Drive you do end up riding/hab up the lower jacks and parts of the upper buck horn trail until you get to 666. Its about the only way to make a loop out of it.

I rode up upper Jacks and down hornbuck this weekend and it was not bad. It was very enlightening to see upper Jacks slow and backwards.

Yeah, thanks again for the great time, awesome trails, and excellent hospitality... ABQ is a very worthy riding destination!

I'd be down to do this loop, but...with this snow we might need some scouting before we commit. I could see 666 retaining snow (north facing).

I dunno, there wasn't a huge response on this route. There is always pulpit rock that handles the moisture pretty well.

I think the route sounds like fun. I don't think I communicated my sarcasm enough in my post above.

Yeah, it's been a very long time since I've ridden 666, and I love that trail. If we do do this route, I would like to consider Section 16 on the way down so we don't have to ride down High Drive (assuming anyone has any energy left after High Dr. and H-A-B up to the tippy top of Buckhorn). Chris does make a good point regarding snow though--we could be trudging through a few inches at the top of Buckhorn and 666 could be down right devilish.

Yep, the upper stuff off Mt Herman needs some more time to clear out.

I'm agreeable to this too--all that matters to me is that we ride bikes, have fun, drink some beer and share some good times (and in a perfect world, it will be on a non-muddy trail that is not named Cap'n Jacks ).

what if we push up the highway to hell (666) to mt. buckhorn and upper jacks, blackjack to pa... (looks outside) OH nevermind!

lets just slip-n-slide down some pulpit trails & sip some brews!

Looking good Paul. Looks like you even put up a backdrop to showcase the new fork. Only if it wasn't for the friggin inclement weather in Kansas you would have fully tested this beautiful suspension device in NM by now.
