    Inflexibles Night Ride 2/26

No more of this waiting until the last minute. I was thinking Pulpit or Ute with beer and wood fired pizza. Could I get multiple Hell Ya's!

By the way, everyone is welcome. Don't be intimated by the term Inflexiables.

I'm out this week and next. On a positive note though, I have a cool Borealis waiting for me to take for a test spin tonight after work. Too bad that we don't have more snow...

Sand! It is the next best thing to snow. Pick a creek and ride it.

As to the ride and 22's, I am in. Meeting at Mule Deer and Pinon Park dr?

Also, I picked up a full 100 count box of Jagwire 1.1mm slick stainless shift cables. I am offering any of you guys a piece of the box for $1.25 each. I'm not making money on this; free cables for own kit really. Let me know how many you might want and I will bring them to this next night ride, and any future night ride for that matter. I'm keeping about 20, which should last me a couple years.

Yeah, there is a fair amount of sand around my office. I'm going to take the one with Clown Shoes out for some easy spinning/playing, and then I'm going to take the "Carbondale" rim version for some miles on the Santa Fe. I took a look at them over lunch and was really impressed. I don't know the weights, but the light one is certainly WELL under 30 pounds.

Roger that. 8 for you, 4 for Tennubs, 10 for Short Bus (via text).

Still taking orders if there are any more takers. Doesn't have to be this week either. I think that leaves 54 cables for availability.

They work good in the loose stuff but the rolling resistance and drag go up exponentially with the tire size, darn physics! The full ridged set up doesn't help matters in the rough stuff either...I'm fat, I'm fat, you know it!

I should be able to make the meeting too. I haven't been to one before. Is it just a presentation and with time to answer questions?

If it was last time, each of the parties has a little table with a map and their staff, and you can speak with them and go over things.

My thought is safety in numbers. The more bikers and trail users they see, the more questions asked and concern showed the better.

So just so everyone is on the same page. Are we meeting at the parking spots off pinion drive exit to that park, or somewhere else?

Borealis was at Copper for a snow bike race last month. They let me race one. Wow! Light and fast! It's not listed on their website but I think they are demoing bikes at the Leadville races and there is one this weekend.

What time is the ride at? And where is everyone meeting? I'm new to the area, so I'd like to make it out to a group ride of some sort.

We meet at 6pm, corner of Mule deer and Pinon Park Dr. That is one of the entrances to Ute. It is at the base of that steep dirt road climb.

Yes I am driving. Cool I just wanted to make sure we were all heading to the same spot. See everyone tonight.

Oh and Chris I will need a total of 16 cables instead of only 8.

Ute was looking good on my lunch ride. Pumped for some night riding.

Kristian, I lived on the west side of the mitten, about an hour east of Lake Michigan. The only good reason to go to Detroit was the airport or a RedWings game. Stay safe.. haha.

I've got an opportunity to network with some 3d printer nerds tonight at 6. So looks like I'm gonna skip, which sucks. I really wanted to ride with you guys especially since I missed last week. If time permits, I'll drop off all those cables to short bus before the ride. If not, next week.

Chris - keep 8 of those cables back on hold me, if ya please. I'll get down yonder to ride w/y'all one of these days again!

We didn't print anything, we all brought laptops and were given an introdution to the 3d software called Blender. Blender is crazy powerful and is used to make animated movies. I heard that the film Gravity used Blender for some of their CGI. Here is a super short user submitted example:

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/9ZqsRTabOlk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Anyways, I've got all those cable set aside for you guys, including you too Scott. Arin: 16, Scott: 8, Short Bus: 10, Nick: 4, and myself: 20. That leaves 42 cables still on the table at $1.25 each.
