Are the Inflexibles Chicken to ride Wednesday?

It's Tuesday morning and no one has started a thread about the ride yet! What do you guys think? It's going to be frick'n cold, and we could have a lot of snow. Palmer Park is usually the best option for days like this because we can ride up the road and we're close to the cars if we want to bail early.

Unfortunately, since I lost my snow tires, we are a one-winter-car family so I'll need to take Ackley home before I ride. Can we do 6:30 this week? (or I will meet you guys on the trail if you want to start at 6:00).

    Who's feeling brave???

I can't ride, but I could grab a beer either instead of the ride or after you guys get done.

The high for tomorrow is 6 degrees, if this holds true, I'll probably stay indoors... So I'm holding out until tomorrow to make the call.

Although, if no one decides to ride, I would be down for some socializing!

Get well Joe!!! Hope the knee is ok!

I will ride. I have a feeling the ride may leave time on the back side for socializing and libations.

Dam it is cold out there, we may need to stick close to safety to allow for a quick retreat. I may have to enlist a few chemical reaction packets to survive. What is the plan?

I think Palmer Park is the best place to ride, but the only quick retreat is to the cars. Does a 6:30 meet time work for you guys? I don't think it makes sense for anyone to ride to this ride so let's plan on waiting in cars until we're all ready to go, hitting up Cheyenne, Cobblestoned, and then re-assess how cold our asses are.

Do we want to have an after ride plan where we might meet anyone uninterested in these beautiful weather conditions? BTW, if the temp is negative to begin with and the wind is blowing, even the craziest of us should rethink this plan so let's all stay tuned.

Post up where you guys want to meet after the ride. I have jury duty today so I'll probably need a beer or two.

Do we want to meet at your house and then carpool to PP? (or maybe even just ride Pulpit Rock?) If we do that we can meet/get ready in a warm house. The danger is of course that we will decide to never leave the warm house...

Starting here at the house would be advantageous for sure. Pull the bikes in the garage, get suited up, then do fifty jumping jacks to start the blood flowing. I'll try to get some easy food ideas going--maybe beer boiled brats.

OK, meet at Casa del Inflexibles, ride to Palmer Park, ride Cheyenne and then Cobblestoned, and return to Casa del Inflexibles. If we get started at 6:40, we would probably be back by 8:15 for anyone just coming for the post ride.

My car said it was -1 at lunch, but at least it wasn't windy. Let's hope for about 5 more degrees of temperature to get us started on the right foot.

I'll bring beer and my flask is full--what else can I bring?

There is no such thing as too many side dishes, so bring whatever you want.

Jaydude has a business thing that might last until 6pm, so he doesn't really plan on making it. Perhaps he can post up when he gets home?

    Also, I'm thinking tacos!!

I surely can let everyone know when I am home. Also I can get the tacos rolling and a cozy fire for the souls braving the cold.

It's cold as the balls on a Icelandic minotaur out there. I will be wearing layers that have never been used in conjunction with my bikes, plus goggles.
