Snow at Hall is FUN! Unfortunately, I've got a motor to build today so I can't break out.

    As warm as it is....

... it might be best to stay off the trails at Hall.

At least let it firm up over night.

Begin flame fest. Heat shield installed.

The AIR temp might be below freezing, but the dirt isn't yet... I just don't like to see big ruts on all the trails.... It can't be good when those ruts look like negative images of our tires.

    Some Math for you:

    Warm Dirt + 4" snow + 27 degrees = Mud.

    Mud + Tires = Ruts

    Therefore:

    Mud = Ruts - Tires

    And, by substitution:

    Warm Dirt + 4" snow + 27 degrees + tires= Ruts.

    See?

It'll be Firm by tonight or tomorrow AM... Hell, I might even try to make an appearance before the Gluttony begins.

And your name also means you are part Bear. Pretty cool- I just realized that

    Agree with the no-ruts stance.

    Grrrrrr!

Steven Colbert and I have this long-standing grudge thing.

Seriously though, I'm not trying to castigate anyone, just merely suggesting a bit of prudence.

Ruts = Closed trails + Angry Bear

    Therefore......

    You do the math.

    GRRR!

    (trying to be funny)

I had about 5" in my driveway this morning, which means 5-8" at Hall depending on where you go. Warm dirt, 27 degrees, and a lot of sun = a sloppy mess.

Please stay away for at least a few days.

Tis the season for trials bikes, DJing, and urban riding. The winter is a great time to broaden the skill set.
A trail thatís too difficult wouldnít exist because itíd never be used. But, trails can exist thatíre too difficult for you.

Rode today. Mostly firm surface, dry and frozen, with firm mud and some wet spots. Packed snow and ice in other spots. Strong wind made for some snow drifts (which were fun) but certainly rideable without damaging the trail. I was actually riding over the horse damage trying to smooth the surface out before it dried like that (big holes).
