    Hey Todd

The website is looking good - I checked it out earlier today, I like the new format. Also - not to sound like an impatient bastid - but I'd be really stoked to see some stills / video from last Thursday. Last but not least - who all is planning to be around on Sunday - provided weather cooperates? I'm looking forward to it.

That's definitely a sweet new format on the site. Looks like Eric isnt there though, lol.

    What's going on on Sunday?

Isn't today Sunday? Or you talking next Sunday? Looking like at least 5" on the ground here now.
If I could snowboard I'd be thinking about taking tomorrow sick. I might do that anyway, but I will probably be trying to get a dr. app't. I can walk w/o crutches now, but still need an MRI to see how much damage I did. Maybe I need to lose some weight, shouldn't be able to hurt myself that much on a 2' bridge...

Yeah - I rode today. I'm pissed because I took some pics with my ghetto camera phone and none of them came out. My first run (of the season) was down a run that they opened 2 minutes before I arrived (I could see them opening it from the lift) - I'd be surprised if there wasn't 18" on it - it was insane - people stuck left and right. You'd jump onto someone else's track to get your speed up, then blast through the fresh stuff for as far as your speed would carry you and hope to make it back onto a track before you stopped - good fun. I think the site is looking good - I think that the group shot really gives it personality.

BTW Tony - we're going out to goof around on Sunday (drops, etc.. up here near Golden)

It was liek that last season for me at Breckenridge on New Years Day. Actually I've had great luck on skiing on new years days in the past few seasons. Anyways, it was empty till mid afternoon probably since everybody was drunk and still sleeping in so there were no lift lines, and Peak 7/8 had 12-18" on almost all runs. And we got there early enough that nothing but the main runs had even been groomed yet so it was perfect. And then we took the T-bar to the top around 10ish and wow.... 18-30" of Freshies up top on all the bowls. THE best snow I've ever been in, deep enough that on the few times I fell in it, it took me a while to actually pack the snow below my hands enough so that i could push myself up.

2 yrs ago? Me and my bro got up to WP shortly after they reopened Berthoud Pass on Thursday (Fri?). It was almost scary b/c it was soo much work to get back up after you fell. I stopped to take a picture and had a tough time keeping the camera above the snow. But it was good as long as you went straight down and stuck to the steep runs.
That was a day for huge swallowtail boards, but it's the only one I've ever seen out here.

BTW, pretty soon we need to get a large group of mtbr folks to go skiing. I'm going to Keystone on the 11th if anybody wants to meet me up there. It'll be with school and I think as long as I check in I can go off on my own and stuff, so my parents wont be afraid of me getting buttraped so much.

    Free Sliverton Day

Perhaps you already bumped into this on the Silverton website but they are offering a free early or late season day to anyone who helps them boot pack for two days on the weekend of Dec 4th or Dec 11th. More important than the free day might be the opportunity to build some winter legs, make a few friends, and get to know the terrain on the mountain. I had a day at Silverton last winter and it rocked -- lots of steep high-pucker stuff.

Silverton is definitely worth the trip and the $$$. The mountain was humbling. I am still around tho in a broken state. Suffered a 90% tear of my MCL at the beginning of this month and I have been PT'ing my way back since. Did it on the Ventana in a skate park clipped in -- dumb a$$ move, eh? Anyway have not been doing much but hanging low, doing my exercises, and trying not to go crazy. I have the green-light to get back on the bike this week but now the weather is not cooperating. See you soon.

    Holy snot

went up to Keystone yesterday with Todd and some friends fromout of town. Ended up finding some powder on a couple of runs... some places were near 3 feet deep! Insanely hard to keep up enough speed to go at all. But when you did, what a good time. Bad part is that i didn't even take my powder board with me that time. oops See you guys this weekend

Hopefully I'm that lucky, but right now I'm guessing both my ACL and MCL are fokked. At least you were at a sk8pk - I was in my backyard. It wasn't far to limp to the couch, anyway.

not the steep one, rather hit up the 2 drop spots, get some good video and be happy, theres too much of a chance that someone could run onto the road and that wouldnt be too good

Any word from the doctors yet?

That sounds cool Todd (the plan for Sunday) - The drop in is great fun, but I can do without it (unless, of course, someone else is dying to hit it )

If I was able, I'd be pushing to hit that drop. That looks bada$$.
Got a dr. app't tomorrow at 10:30 way out in Saudi Aurora.

I think that he was referring to the slab of rock right below Bandemere - it is hard to get your bike stopped before you hit 470 if you hit the tall section (roll it - that is) - we are going to hit the drop in the picture the other day. I would be happy to ride the one at Bandemere again though - it's great fun.

I just have a Slider on my AC (6") - I'm liking it alot though, I think it saved me on the drop in the picture the other day (well, it saved me the second time )

That's what I meant, but I thought it was a slider plus. Does the regular slider have travel adjust? And did you guys get more pics from the drops you did last wkend? I wanna see... I got plenty of time to fill. Dr. yesterday said looks like my ACL is gone, get the MRI Fri to see what else I mighta done.

On man - sorry to hear about your ACL - that really sucks. If you wanna borrow any riding DVDs to pass the time let me know.

Todd did get quite a bit more (video) of the other day - that sequence shot was actually taken from some of the video he shot. I'd like to see more myself

Let us know how the MRI turns out.

BTW - no travel adjust on the regular Slider

Got the MRI today, and they gave me a set of prints. Too bad I don't know what I'm looking at. I know there are supposed to be some ligaments and stuff in there...
Dr. app't Tues, hopefully he knows what they mean.

That'd be cool if I could borrow some bike videos, I've got nothing. Last time I bought a video it was snowboarding back in '00 or so. I don't usually have time to sit around and watch videos, esp. not since I married a house and bought a wife. Wait, that didn't come out right...
