I got some! Overall, conditions were excellent. The rock garden had some spots that were techier and more eroded. Other than that, though, most of the rest of the park was good and about the same. Some ruts here and there but a majority of them will probably be ridden in quickly with no trail work required. The Hall Ranch Ranger has been busting ass getting the bad spots up and going again for us. It wasn't too crowded today either.

It was kind of nice to see Hall after being shut down for a couple of months. For all of the damage there was, it was also good to see many areas that were rehabbed from lack of use.

There were more roots and rocks exposed in spots that I fear the trail may widen around them. Remember, there's no shame in walking. That's part of mountain biking.

    Yup, great day yesterday.

Stopped by Redstone, thanks for the beer and the bike parts Dave!

WKD, I think you've seen Hall before...

Good news! The rock garden is still there.
Bad news! The rock garden is still there.

Someone has put quite a bit of work into the trail filling in various sections with gravel, etc.
There are some places that still have some "washout" but none are in an area that you'd hit at speed

    mid-November weather at its finest.

The amount of rock that came down in the St. Vrains during the flood is incomprehensible. Just below the parking lot, it looks like the canyon was flooded all of the way across.

Next time you're up there and see the Ranger with dark skin and a goattee, thank him Ranger Morris is the caretaker of Hall Ranch and has been doing a ton of work around Hall.

That's an understatement. A few weeks back, I rode up hwy 7 under a full moon. On average, that canyon is 10-15' deeper than it used to be. There are sections that are a good 20' deeper. Amazing. Unfortunately, though, all of that rock and sand are now in Lyons!

Dave: do you know how he gets all that gravel to the trail? Is he using a pack mule or something? I'd like to buy him a beer.
    cheers.

Any pictures of HWY 7, Dave? I haven't been up to the vabin, heard it's still standing but was wondering what 7 looked like.

7 was completely hosed. I hear rumblings that it'll be open by Thanksgiving though. I rode it a few weeks ago on a full moon. Completely increbible. Unrecognizable. There were only a few sections of the entire road between the quarry and where the South comes in that still had 2 lanes of pavement. The rest was either totally gone or 1 lane collapsed.

I can't wait to see it in the daylight.

Just finished my ride... 98% of Hall (not counting Antelope obviously) seems to be virtually unchanged. There are a couple very loose, sandy sections and a couple of spots where rock work clearly had to be done but overall the trail was just like I remembered. SO nice to get back out there!

Whoops on antelope! thought that was the open side. no different than it was. Standing in Lyons is as if I acquired a case of dimensia. Like I know where I am but it just makes no sense. Very sad but mother nature has spoken overwhelmingly. New opportunities arise.. Whatever the case its great to be back in the town we all love. Whatever you do.. dont make that right at old st vrain road on to the gravel path to the mobile home park. wow. the whole forest is gone and what.. forty by sixty swath of land dissapeared. <3
