Hall Ranch: Bitterbrush Trail Descent Video

    http://jasonhilimire.com/2009/02/bit...nt-hall-ranch/

I hit Heil/Hall yesterday and re did the descent on cam, looks real nice this time, even caught a rider who was ripping it down for some perspective. Enjoy!

    Thanks for sharing that.

Fun to see a video of a trail I have ridden so many times--I have it memorized. I almost get the exact feeling watching it at the same points in the trail as if I was riding it for real. I also found it really interesting to see the lines you took compared to the ones I take.

Weird though how the video flattens out the terrain. Hard to get the gravity in there.

    KEEP YOUR HEAD STILL!!!!!

haha cool video although it kinda made me feel sick. Any way you could mount the camera on the bars or the fork or something? I think that would be ideal.

Ive never made it down that whole thing without dabbing. very nice job. man I love that trail

I've got to get me a bar mount for my cam, only have the helmet mount currently, I might be able to try to mount it under the stem....

BTW, I was going to run a stabilizer on the video, but it would've taken 2 hours on my macbook, and I'm impatient!

Mounting the cam on the bike will only increase the shake. The best solution is your head cam and trying to float through the terrain, taking the smoothest lines. On camera stabilization would help a lot.

What you really need is a steadicam! ...and in way a steadicam works, you as the rider, are the steadicam.

when did you catch the guy in front of you? Jokin, nice video.

You've probably run across this vid but it is another great one of the front side descent. (actually 2). The one the only Deathmarch Dave.....

Nice video! What kind of camera were you using? I'd love to take videos on some of my rides...
Brakes? Who needs brakes?!?! They just slow you down...

Yeah, No Chit. Try wearing an eye patch over one eye next time you ride Hall. Then it will look more like the video

I wish the camera had a vestibular system
