Smile Golden Bike Park Volunteer Day; Saturday, July 17

    http://GoldenBikePark.com/#news

Come on out *this Saturday* and see the progress that has been made to both the Flow Trail and the Skills Area. The park is not open-for-business yet, as we've got plenty of work to complete still, but those who come out and dig can bring a bike and ride!

Bring water, hat, sunscreen, boots, and gloves and meet at Tony Grampsas Memorial Sports Complex (4471 Salvia) at 9:00 am. We'll work until noon-ish, then break for pizza; depending on turnout and the weather, we may likely sneak in a couple more hours, but we'll be finished by 3pm at the latest (so no excuse-- you can still go on that ride late in the day as it cools down!). If we're lucky there may even be a stocked cooler in the trailer at the end of the day.

The park is really taking shape. Other committments Saturday, but hope that you guys get a solid crew. The flow trail pictures in your other thread make it look spectacular!

    Caution; Merge; Workers Ahead! bump

please come on out tomorrow morning... the more the merrier.

FYI, we had our first official walk-thru w/ the city yesterday and they are pleased w/ the progress.

since forecast is looking a bit, um, warm, i suspect we'll call it a day after lunch before the weeds spontaneously combust.

I'm going to try and come out if I'm feeling better. Just got back from Cleveland Wednesday evening and have been having some kind of stomach bug for the last 2 days. I've been working through it, but I have a desk job. Hopefully I'll feel well enough to come out and help. It'll be great once this is completed and I would love to say that I had some hand in helping it come to fruition.

If I do come out, do you need me to bring anything? Bottled water, orange smiles, etc?

Is it to late to volunteer to help build? I would like to help throw some dirt around.

come on out tomorrow morning at 9:am.

we're at the north end of tony grampsas memorial sports complex, just north of 44th (or 10th st if you come from downtown golden) next to North Table Mountain. take easley road until you see the yellow gate w/ the COMBA sign; pull in the dirt road, we'll be down at the end.

sure, whatever you feel like... bagels or coffee maybe (i don't drink the stuff). no obligation, though, we're all volunteers. COMBA will supply pizza and drinks for lunch.

Hey I think I accidentally left my bike lock there. If anyone finds a cable lock out there please let me know. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Yeah, glad I got to meet you guys. It was pretty brutal in that heat, but I'm happy I got a chance to put some work in over there. Jason, I'm not really sure where the bike lock might be. I'm pretty sure I left it on one of those concrete berms down where we had the pizza. I'm not really sure though. I can just buy another one, but it sucks that I just bought that lock 2 weeks ago. It's all money right? If you do happen to see it, let me know. Thanks.

I'm looking forward to seeing some pics too.

Any chance you anyone will be out working anytime after work this week or this coming weekend? I finally have some free time and would like to help out.

We may have some guys out there Thursday or Friday. PM me and I'll get you hooked up.

Thanks all for helping. The trail work was great despite the heat. It registered 101 there nearby. I'm headed to the park this evening to check on a few things and work on some storm water stuff, I'll see if I can find the bike lock... Do I need to know a combo?

Nah, if it's there at all, it's probably just sitting on the ground at the bottom somewhere. It's not a big deal, it's not a super expensive lock. I just use it to lock my bike up in the parking garage at work. I'm going to pick up another one tonight, but it would still be nice to find that one too. I seem to be really bad with bike locks. The last one I bought I lost the keys for when I moved, and this recent one I just bought. I suppose it's better than losing a bike. Thanks for looking though. You'll probably never find it.
