    Georgetown Ready To Ride

Hiked Silverdale and Saxon Mountain yesterday, Only a few patches of snow left should be good to go for this weekend. We’re doing a little trail maintenance removing rocks, last winters downed trees …

The plan is to park behind the Red Ram Restaurant 1200 Argentine Street
(food & bev. At the Ram after the rides) Then meet at Mountain Buzz Cafť & Pizzeria 604 6th Street for a 9 a.m. start

    THE RIDES:

SATURDAY North Empire /Silver Creek This a clear creek classic has been around for 25 years and it only gets better. This year we have included the single track up North Empire. This ride has lots of climbing about 12 miles of singletrack lots of rocky double track a little pavement and a killer downhill! (about 10 miles)

SUNDAY Saxon Mountain I think this is going to be the next downhill rage in Georgetown. 3000 ft. up 3000 ft. down in about 15 miles We will ride to the top of Saxon Mtn. then over to the powerline and down to Silverdale and more down to Georgetown. It,s a FN rocky ride to the top 6-7 miles with enough switchbacks to make you sick! We will see if we can find the singletrack to the powerline if not we will ride doubletrack. The downhill to Georgetown is steeeep, rocky singletrack with lots of steeeep tight switchbacks. SHOULD BE TITS!

MONDAY Pavilion Point/ Silversale/Silver Creek You should know this ride by now. We saved this ride for last as to give the snow a couple more days to melt. We will ride up to Pavilion Point then Silversale and then back to Georgetown If we are up to it on to Silver Creek and Empire Pass ( Union Gap).

Anyone want to help with trail work? I,ll hook you up with Smedley.

Those elevations on your map must be in meters...since GTown is @ 8500ft.

26 miles with 6521ft elevation gain!?!? DAM I could not imagine. Big props to all who can do that without bonking...

Nice wussy rides you're doing, B. WTF? You're not even going over Parnassus. Yawn. Good thing I'll be in Angel Fire. I'm embarrassed.

Map and elevation profile were made with TOPO software and are to be used as estimates I used existing roads and trails for the most part and guessed Silver Creek Trail it should be close

Ah it's not so bad 2 long rides and one short about 11000ft. climbing in all. I think it is pretty accurate some year I will have a gps The math still adds up to the same. Last years "blog from the North Empire ride

I'd love to join. Gotta be back in Boulder by 5pm for family stuff though. Is that reasonable? Should I bring a saw or spade or something to help with any en-route trail maintenance?

I have a GPS profile for a ride from Dumont up to the singletrack to Empire, Bard Creek to Empire Pass to Pavillion to Silver Dale to Silver Creek and then back to my place, I'll see if I can find that and post it. But seriously, nice pink panty weekend you have planned.

    Puss.

Looks like the sun might come out tomorrow morning for the ride over to Fall river. If you are going you should bring a little extra warm clothing and rain gear. We will probably have to push through some snow. Should be a 4-5 hour ride -A THREE HOUR TOUR-

Today I made it over Pavilion Point and only had to push through about Ĺ mile of snow

    Wednesday was ugly!!

I tried to ride over Saxon to the power line and ended up slogging through waist deep snow for 4 hours. So we will probably ride Silver Creek Sunday then Pavilion Point/ Silverdale on Monday. Hope to see you this weekend . Later
