Front Range sucked this weekend, so I went to Eagle.

Found a bike demo day/outdoor festival in full strength when I got there, sunny skies and 70F.

Also, found some of the best post-rain dirt I've ever ridden. Super tacky and fast.

I guess Eagle, CO is having an inaugural "Hammer Mash" bike festival over Memorial Weekend. Guessing it will be a pretty good time.

Yeah, I was through there on my road bike and saw that and wondered what was going on. Eagle has some really fun early season trails although I went there once last spring about 24hr after some rain/snow and was a little too soon, the trails were still semi jumbo. So rather than rut the crap out of everything I broke out the road bike. Still, especially for Summit Co folk I highly recommend Eagle as a spring day trip. It's as close or closer than a lot of FR places with a lot less traffic.

DAMNIT. That was a good idea. I have been craving the rides in Eagle. Instead I dealt with the shitty weather on the front range and cleaned my house.

Those forested trails in particular look really cool, but all those shots are beautiful. So many hidden gems in Colorado I'll most likely never find. =/

    That's some good stoke!

I really want to go ride (anywhere) now. Too much work the last week and a half for me. Only 20 minutes of ride time in that span. Doh!

I take it spring/early summer is the best season to check out Eagle. How is late summer or fall?

Spring has been great despite the massive snowpack in the higher elevations all throughout CO.

Big blue skies, snowcapped peaks in the distance, hardpack singletrack.
