    Flesh donation at Palmer Park...

I donated some flesh to the Palmer Park Gods today. Great ride though, temperature was perfect. There was some snow, but it was perfect, all fun and slidey. -- PC

That looks pretty painful.... Is it deep or does it just look like it could be from the pic?

    is making a comeback.

Turns out that five years of not mountain biking, really makes one strive to get back to it.

Nah, not really that deep. Gets a little ugly towards the elbow. That sandstone is rough!

Really wasn't painful. My hand hurts more than the forearm.

Hey Paul, I met you awhile back, we did a Palmer ride with Kristian. I was the one on the red Foes that biffed it at the end and made my own donation, so where did you do it?-Rick

I think that they sound like a good investment for you . I like the Roach/RaceFace Rally ones. I've been using them for a few months and they seem to hold up well (and stay up well). I need to get myself a pair of their knee pads--my Battlestar Galactica ones are really starting to slide a lot.

So where (how) did it happen?

Hard to explain. I don't know the names of any of the trails... Heading out to the over look on the ridge, there is a new right-hand turn that we take that used to be an out and back. Now, you can cruise by this evergreen tree, over a rock formation, then take an immediate, sharp left down a steep rocky path that Tees into a trail I think they call the photo trail that takes you down to where all the gay guys park. Anyway, I was trying to avoid the tree because I scratched my arm on it last week. Obviously I was paying too much attention to the tree, and going to slow and did a huge, slo-mo, over-the-bar, superman on to the sandstone and landed about where I needed to be turning Left to start the sketchy decent. Kristian, this is a trail I recently showed you.

i use some fox elbow pads, pretty cheap but they work well, cut out the mesh on the inside and just left the elastic so its cooler, i can wear them almost all of the time...for shin/knee i have some 661's that only have a shin strap (goes in a y kind of around your calf)...they work well too and you can pedal with them
