First of all, Hello Colorado! First post in the CO forum since moving here 18 mos ago. Couldn't have been a better decision moving to such an amazing place.
So, first ride reports were from Deer Creek Canyon this weekend and Ridgeline Open Space on New Years day. These were my first rides on snow pack ever and I absolutely loved it. There is something very cool about that crunching noise your tires make while riding on it. Additionally I had two friends with me that are just getting into MTB and it has been fun to see that glimmer in their eyes after the rides that I am pretty sure we all experienced when we started this sport!
Ridgeline was mostly clear with a perfect tackiness
Looking north you can see Denver metro getting hammered
Some area had a very defined climate change
Heading up the hill at Deer Creek Canyon
A little snow a short while after the start
Once in the canyon it was well packed with some icy spots
But almost immediately on the Plymouth Creek Trail conditions were perfect
The upper loop was great
