    Fire near Buffalo Creek

Does anyone have any information, if Buffalo Creek is closed down, due to that fire? I was planning to ride up there this afternoon.

Spoke with the USFS this morning. The trails are currently open but some are in the mandatory evacuation area so access may be difficult. With the poor air quality, I'm not sure I'd be riding there today or the next few days but if you do, I would suggest starting from either Pine Valley Ranch or Little Scraggy lot. Access from the Buffalo Creek township may be sketchy. Good luck and be safe!

I'm wondering as well, if Segment 3 of the CO Trail is ridable (looks to be completely out of the fire zone and evac area), however, it is just west of the fire and evac areas.. I'm on a journey to complete the whole CO Trail, and segment 3 is the last easy section I need to knock out.

I did Kenosha East on Sunday and seg 1&2 the prior weekend.. I would strongly suggest not doing either this weekend. Seg 2 is essentially in the burn region. Due to the fire, I was going to try Seg 3 tomm from the Wellington lake parking lot west to east then back... Just not sure how the smoke is west of the burn area. If it's too smokey I was going to do Kenosha-Jeff Creek.
