3 small fires have been reported today, apparently. 285 near Richmond Hill, 285 and Parm Gulch, and the one you mentioned.

The arsonists found some dry tinder. I bet it took some effort on their part.

"Sounds like the fires along 285 have been caused by a truck dragging a chain that has caused multiple fires along 285."

This was a post also on pinecam-

From the photo, it looks like it might be one of those "good" wildfires... hopefully it stays reasonably calm and the flames continue to burn low to the ground.

Sort of surprising, it was pretty cold and wet up here this morning.

Curious to XC comment about arsonist- that many fires within a small area - did you read something that it was arsonist?

^^^I am curious about that comment too. Although it seems every time there is a fire he brings up arsonists. Care to elaborate XC?

OK, yeah, I bring that up a lot. Because I used to live in SoCal (from here) and I never knew about the concept of "arsonists" till I lived there. Around September, once the Santa Ana winds kicked up, suddenly, fires were starting all over the place. How can there be so many downed power wires at once, I wondered in my naivete. I watched, in the distance, a fire starting here...****, another downed power wire...then over there...****, another one?....then another one over there...WTF? No, an arsonist driving along a lonely street throwing lighted packs of matches out his car window. He was caught, very few are.

That's how I came to know about the existence of "arsonists" those who start fires intentionally. It's happened here so much recently, ya know, fires spontaneously erupting all over the place for no apparent reason...the officials grimly note "maybe human caused'.

It just seems to me that the arsonist type personality has either moved here or has evolved, but it's not something "officials" are going to attribute these fires to because, attributing arsonism begets like behavior. If you all think these fires (maybe not this one) are just nature behaving erratically, then I suggest you start keeping your eyes and ears open to some aberrant human behavior manifesting itself here.

There are azzhat peeps out starting fires intentionally. And it's up to all of us to keep a watch out. Sorry if I sound alarmist here, but I believe it to be a very real threat.

    Hey, you asked.

The fire burning near Meyer Ranch Open Space park is at 20 acres. It is 0% contained.

Fifty firefighters from seven agencies are on scene.

The SEAT has made one drop and a type-2 helicopter is dropping water on the fire.

    UPDATE:

The fire remains at 40 acres with 20 percent containment.

Today, firefighters will focus on containment and putting out hotspots. Winds are expected to be high today.

Evacuations remain in place. Officials will be allowing evacuated residents to return to their homes at 9 a.m., briefly, with a deputy escort, to obtain medication and other necessities. Residents will be asked to present identification at the roadblock.

    The Park is closed.
