Excellent pictures bad andy! The trick to getting up early is going to bed early the night before. Almost impossible with these long days and so many things to be done in a day.

I am digging the bike also sgltrak, I have been dreaming about that trail as I have never been there.

Hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend.

Nice shots. Gotta love early morning rides in the summer! That''s the same Kona I ride but a different color! 2005 Dawg Deelux?
Appears to be two different people riding it in these pictures.

^^^ Putting on glasses and taking off shirt makes 2 different people? Kinda like Superman?
HAHA - J/K - It is the one and only Scarman in both pix riding the Kona!

I agree on the awesome-ness of the bike, sgltrak.
What's the story with that bad boy?
That's not the one you won is it?

Thanks for the compliments, guys. Andy, it is not the one I won last year at New Belgium.

The bike is a '64 Schwinn frame I picked up in 1985. It has an early 80's Shimano BMX cranks on a 3 piece bottom bracket conversion, early 80's CyclePro forks, & an early 80's Diamond Back BMX stem. I'm running 42X18 with a coaster brake, Ritchey clipless pedals and a Mickey Mouse bell.

The coaster brake heats up on the long descents, and in combination with the low bottom bracket makes rocky technical rides a challenge, but for rides like Blue Sky it is a lot of fun. The coaster brake also does not offer a lot of modulation, but is either on or off, so the back end has a tendency to break loose. I raced it at a New Belgium short track race this spring and didn't place last in my class. Not my main bike, but fun for a change of pace.

Come on up and I'll show you around. It is only open dawn to dusk, so now is the time for a FiFo ride there.

Rode most of it just after it from '92 to the time they got the underpass in. My ex's brother lives along Rim Rock Trail. He's a great guy, but the whole "ex" thing keeps me from enjoying Horsetooth and the riding...
It would be nice to get back up there and ride around.
