I see the resort trails. Did you hit it from the CDT - Rabbit Ears to the resort or rode the gondi up and pedaled around? Also, did you get in the back side of Emerald - Ridge Trail to Beall (sp?)?

This is motivating me to go up this wknd since all the FR trails are in Nebraska.

Paully, I did Ridge/Beall, and hot springs mad creek red dirt, the trails here are in excellent shape, and colors are just starting to peek out. Best part of fall/ shoulder season, no waiting at Freshies at 9am.

Yes I did the divide trail over to steamboat resort and down, great day of riding...all that climbing is definitely worth it.

Hit up Emerald mtn front side yesterday, Lupine over to stairway, mgm and down.

I was told they had plenty of rain...no mud, even up high?

    The Divide trail IS worthy!

Light snow on Mt Werner this morning, down the the roof of the new four points lodge. Should melt by weekend, or not.

Awesome. I just flew on a prop plane from the front range to Grand Junction today and and saw a lot of color. The Vail area looked great. On the other facet, there was a lot of snow, especially in the South West range of I-70 near Aspen to the Grand Valley,

Still trying to get up and get in The Ridge to Beall loop before this season's done. Looks like the Gov shutdown is pretty much for certain, so I might be able to blast up there Tues afternoon for a Wed ride

Beautiful weekend. But I have to observe: at least in my little corner of CO, the colors are a little funny this year. First of all, it's late. There are lots of huge stands of aspen that are still more or less green, and it's the end of September. And yesterday I hiked way up onto the east slope of Mt Ouray scouting for elk and saw some stands that were just going straight from green to a kind of poo brown. I think the huge amount of late summer moisture is giving us a C+ aspen season.

But maybe that's just a southern Chaffee County thing...

Wait, what time were you heading down there? I saw half a dozen dudes heading down the Poncha Road from Marshall around 2. I was up there on a different kind of two wheeler. Did some elk scouting a little ways north and east of Marshall Pass, then just rode up to Marshall planning to head out to the overlook above that hungry trail, then down Poncha Road. Just a leaf-peeping mission.

But there was snow on the road, and I'm not quite ready to experiment with snow on my new toy.

It still has the dual sport tires that I got with it. And I ain't ready to break bones just now...

But the guys kind of looked at me like I was a bit nancy-fied for turning around. Maybe I was just being sensitive because I was a bit nancy-fied.

I'd expect the Bacon Meister to think my punting was nancy-ish...

    So, was that your posse?

No, up here in Steamboat, we have snow up high, and colors just now starting to peak. Weird timing. Usually the leaves peak, then snow comes. It's all a factor of climate change.

Nope - not us... we were on trail later than that. Didn't see any nancies on motos.

But when we were picking up one of the trucks at the top of Monarch there was a dude getting dropped off on a YBB... this dude *passed* us on Starvation just a short time later. F**ker was FAST. Especially considering the state of the Crest trail right now.

Did you talk to him at all? Sounds like it could have been Reilly from Absolute in Salida. He's a fast fscker and a super nice dude. If he was all smiling and high energy with a southern accent...
