    Falcon Trail (Colorado Springs)

Does anyone have some beta on the Falcon Trail? I was hoping to head down there tomorrow instead of Pueblo.

I rode it last Sunday and it was 60% dry, 40% soft packed snow. With the week that we had last week, I would expect the ratio to be 90% dry, 10% hardpack/ice. As long as you watch out in some of the shaded corners, it should be in really fun shape!

Thought you were riding Mt Herman tomorrow? Falcon Trail sounds good.

Just got off it. Nice. Clear, maybe <5% ice, mostly on North end. Ground is mostly frozen so it's sort of a hardpack conditions.

I'm a big fan of parking outside the North Gate and riding in. That gives you a warm up, and you get to do the fun section right by the B-52.

Ride up the main road after the gate and take a left at the B-52 and then go into the parking lot there. Now take the dirt road heading south to the Boy Scout Camp. Follow that road around and look for a break in the fence with a trail leading down the hill. You will go down a hill, under a bridge, and then up a steep climb. After the climb, you'll cross a road and then find the Falcon Loop about 100 yards after the road. Just remember that intersection so you don't go right past it after you finish the loop!
