Energy Return Wheel - Airless tires

Airless tires in our future? Colorado content: First video looks like a trail along I-70. Brief glimpse of trail-side signage looks Colorado-ish as well. Any guesses as to trail name?

That's really cool. I would love to see what the final version is like when it comes to market. I have always hated tubeless. Its messy it sux when you get a flat. Tubes suck too. This could be perfect if its not really expensive. Tires don't last vary long for me when I am racing. Right now I am using up a set of tires every few months. So if there easy to replace and not much more then a normal tire I'm sold.

Production version will have sidewalls, I think.

The only downside I can see is that you can't tune the stiffness of the tires (equivalent to changing tire pressure).

I see lots of lawsuits in this company's future.

I could see these having some viability, though my guess is that they may prove cost prohibitive for the average user. Also, what happens once the tread wears out? Wonder if the next evolution will be some sort of wheel/airless tire in one with a replaceable tread of some sort like some of those Tweel automotive prototypes.
