I spent the day demoing bikes, checking out booths and hanging out in Eagle yesterday, during the first day of Eagle Outside Festival. It was great to see a Colorado town embrace mountain biking. It was my first time riding in Eagle, while I only rode one loop, the riding is great. My main purpose was to find my next main bike, and the demo was set up well. There were tons of great brands represented and they were all well stocked with bikes and nice people, Chris Cocalis the owner/founder of Pivot Cycles was in their booth, talking about and setting up bikes. For the demo I rode up Boneyard and down the Ridge (a 6 mile loop with steady switchback climbing in the first half and a great flowy tech downhill back to town. I demoed the following bikes on Boneyard:
Pivot Mach 5.7 carbon
Specialized Enduro Expert Carbon
And the these bikes in the town bike park:
Ibis Ripley (they didn't have XL's yet so it was a little small)
Choosing between amazing bikes like these is definitely a nice problem to have., they were all great bikes. The HD and 5.7 were my favorites, I just need to decide if I want a slightly more downhill focused bike with the HD or the more trail focused 5.7.
