More motivation from Big Mike Barrow:
" If OSMP can complete the work planned for this event, they will reopen Doudy Draw and Springbrook Loop. They still need a couple dozen more volunteers."

This would open a significant chunk of trail in South Boulder that has been closed over a month. Lets get this open!

Thanks for that link. Schnauzers reporting? I thought he moved to SoCal? Anyway, I'm still wondering how the work at Doudy Draw went.

Pretty impressive how much happened down by the creek and how little happened elsewhere. I haven't managed to ride up the steps that we put in yesterday going either direction but its definitely doable. All the slides up on springbrook were cleared by osmp people last week from what we were told yesterday. Really, besides the lack of bridge on doudy everything else seems 100% from what I saw riding yesterday and today.

little rock steps/ramps that go down into the creek on either side. I just haven't successfully come down them slow enough on one side to make the turn to be lined up properly for coming up the other side, or there have been people in the way.

    edit:
they're definitely not stairs from my perspective. There are definitely relatively smooth lines up and down each side, just not super-easy in the up direction either way (again, from my perspective...).

I tried the "step/stairs" yesterday, got down both sides, but as you said getting up proved a bit harder, almost but not quite, slick tires add to the challenge going through the creek.

Thanks to all the volunteers for getting this done, great work!

So was enough accomplished that Doudy/Springbrook are open?
