    Deal of a lifetime

While looking for a pink 20" bike (got one?) for my daughter, I came across this:

    http://denver.craigslist.org/bik/1806281973.html

I wonder is they ment to say, $18?

"$18. No. Retail is $180, here is a similar one for 160. It never really got used, It's obo of course. We've got 2 people coming by this afternoon. They offered 140, I just
never got a chance to reset the price.

Dude. Lance Armstrong rides a Trek. That's a helluva deal on that sweet blue bike.

Hilarious. Sounds like car salesman talk; retail value, two offers, they are buying this afternoon, they want to pay more than the offering price.

How much extra for the bell?

Actually, that little blue bike is far more advanced than Lance's. I'd offer $1800 for such lightweight, super stiff, yet supple frame material.

So, you're saying it's NOT a great deal? I was just about to pull the trigger after talking to her, I was just gonna offer $200, just to be safe.

I dont understand these threads. The seller can ask whatever they want and the buyer can offer whatever they want. What's your point?

And he's asking $100. Not sure where the $18 is coming from?

$100 might be in the ball park, if it is like new, given it was $150 or so new.

that bike wasn't worth $150 new. leaving the showroom and never getting ridden, it's worth maybe $100. with some use, it's down to $70. on craigslist, it's down to $50.

She was asking $180 yesterday for a bike that retails for $160 brand new. After being sent a link to this thread... the price went WAY down...

and yes... comedy would be the primary purpose...
