Cyclists Beat JetBlue To Long Beach

    http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2011/...to-long-beach/

Reminds me of an argument I used to get into with a bike hater about being able to get to Cherry Creek Res from Wadsworth/Colfax quicker than he could drive it.

WPH are very fast and skilled urban riders. I worked Monday nights when living out there and didn't get a chance to ride with them much, but always took the night off for their annual century ride in November. 100 miles on a fixed gear, averaging 22mph in traffic at night. It's no surprise to me that they beat Jet Blue.

Great Post KC, I knew you had it in you.

Interesting that the cyclist made it to Long Beach before the plane got off the ground.

I didn't ride the race Jet Blue with them becuause I am here in CO nowdays. I just used to run with them on occasion and compete in their street race events. Their annual WPH Team race to the beach was a riot and almost too much fun on a bike. The last race I did with that lot was Santa Barbara to Santa Monica last Summer. Fun times in a place where the dirt is too crowded to have fun, so the streets will just have to do.
