CTR blue dots are moving! (WARNING: highly addictive)

As of 4am this morning, they're off and rolling from Durango to Denver! Here's the blue dot tracker:

    CTR 2013 Live

Now y'all just try to get anything productive done over the next 4 or 5 days.

Looks like occasional TITSer Lil' E (aka That Guy!) (aka EC) is among the early leaders, despite, or perhaps because of, riding a freaking rigid singlespeed .

They're already halfway up to Kennebec and I'm barely out of bed! (headed up to Searle/Kokomo/Tennessee today myself at massively slower pace). Good luck to all! Extremely inspirational every year!

Quite the battle going on for the past few days. Who will it be Jefe Branham or Jesse Jakomait? Place your bets!

They are currently something like .2 miles apart. Some 400+ miles into this thing.

Might be kind of neat to go up to Lenny's rest Friday afternoon and see this guys on to the final down hill.

Confirmation Blue Dots exist in real life!

I was lucky enough to be in position to see some famous "blue dots" going by live this morning. First caught the leading pair of Jefe and Jesse coming across from Gold Hill, then drove up to the Dredge and hopped on my bike to catch them again a bit further up. Snapped some pics and gave chase!

It took almost everything I had to just barely hang close for about 0.5 hour before I turned down on Red Trail and they headed on up. Just amazing how these guys can maintain that pace for about 100 hours, with virtually no sleep, yet seem to maintain good cheer throughout.

Thanks to all the riders and organizers for inspiring us mortals every year with this greatest bike event of them all, and good luck to everyone still out there cranking!

    Enjoy the pics...

You know... they might just pull that off. But I'm still gonna go with the finish tomorrow afternoon. Friday afternoon, though? They had better be drinkin' beers.

Looks like Jefe is going to take it by a nose, but it's not easy to tell since Jesse's last update was 33 minutes ago and Jefe's was 5. Could be a photo finish!

I was looking at the tracker and it looks like the route takes them south around the Tarryalls to get around the Lost Creek Wilderness. haven't they always taken 285 between Kenosha and Bailey? I'm not familiar with all the roads but it seems like a lot of extra miles.

They've done both routes. In 2008 they definitely did the Tarryall detour though lately they've done 285
