COS Wednesday Night Ride 11/7
So whenever I do section 16, I like to ride up Palmer trail to the split where you drop into the descent but I go left instead. The trail dead ends in 1/2 to 1 mile after the split. From there I double back down Palmer trail. The turns are way better and the ride is longer. Once you hit the ranger station, take a right, go up 1/2 mile to the Bear Creek entrance. Once in there take a left on that new trail and make it back over to sec 16 parking lot. Never done it at night, but it should be good. Maybe tack on Red Rocks so we can park at the BBQ joint.
I know you guys recently did a sec 16/red rocks ride so I understand if we don't do it.
Thoughts?

Reason: Cuz I screwed up the date

I roger your post.
I thinking 11/7 would be much better night for a ride. Actually that sounds fun, are you thinking of parking at section 16 trail head.
Another thought is we have not ridden Ute Valley for a long time, could always start from trinity brew.
Either one is good for me

I vote for section 16 stlye loop. I can ride over from home and save some cash if you want to link up and ride over together. Maybe next week hit up ute valley joe?
-
Oops, I fixed the date, Thx Joe.
Redneck, if you live close I'd rather park at your place, Thx!

I vote wait on Ute. I don't think I can ride this week. Next week I should be good though. I would like to hear how this Section 16 changeup goes.

Sounds good to me. I will try and hose down section 16 Wednesday afternoon so it will be ideal conditions that evening. I vote for starting at Rudy's because it goes well with White Line.
-
This sounds fun, haven't ridden Sec16 in a while. See you guys at Rudys.
-
White line goes well with many things. (hard to say that without sounding like a coke head)
So here is the route that I think Chris is picturing so we are on the same page..
Palmer trail as an out and back to Crystal park > Stephanie's > Jump on Lil Fruita> white line and maybe some hogback to finish.
-
Ok so we are not dropping down the rocky stuff?

An out and back on Palmer trail is an old classic. Dont knock it until you have tired it. Its fast flowy and longer than the section 16 DH....
-
Sounds interesting, but I'm out. I went home sick today, plus we need to have the living room emptied out by Saturday so they can do sheet rock. Have fun guys!

So I should not water down Section 16
-
It does not look that way....you can water down the palmer trail though....haha
-

It's that time of year even if it will be 70 plus degrees.
I tapped that

Its a good vintage for Warlock this year....
-
Damn, I wish it were Wednesday already...
-
Im with you on that one SB, I do enjoy Wednesdays when the riding is premo.
-
Are you guys going to be ok if we do OAB on Palmer? Seems to be controversial and just want to make the masses happy. After all it is election day..

I'm my typical maybe and even if I can get there I'll be playing catch up. Its the birthday of french cheese, so its likely that will take precedence. Whether I catch you all or not enjoy the freeky warm November night ride.
-
As long as I'm on my bike and not in front of the TV I'll be fine.

Thanks Keith. I'm feeling better today, but I was not happy yesterday--I emptied my stomach in the morning and had a fever of 102 in the afternoon. Then, just as quickly as it set in, I was feeling fine again by 6:00 last night.
Still, I think I'm better off sitting tomorrow out--have fun!
