Copper Mountain Downhill Trails? What Bike?

So my girlfriend and some friends are running the warrior dash next weekend at Copper. Since I have knee issues exacerbated from years of hockey and military service, I don't really run anymore, I bike, so I won't be joining them. I'm looking to just pay the $15 for the lift and do some downhill while they're running the race. From what I can tell all the trails should be open during the race. I haven't seen anything to tell me otherwise.

This leads me to my question. From what I've heard, they're really just your typical singletrack trails able to be accessed via lift. Even the advanced trails don't really have typical resort terrain, correct? I'm thinking it just makes more sense for me to ride my Mach 5.7 AM/trail bike up there than to bother with the downhill bike right? I think it will be way too much bike for those trails, but they don't have any trail information on their website. Just looking for confirmation from anyone who has ridden downhill up there. I'm sort of leashed to the resort while they're doing the race, so I figure this is a good way to kill some time and have fun.
Gotta get up to get down.

My buddy rode there last year, and confirmed what you're thinking. He said it was fun, but the DH bike was too much. I was signed up for the Warrior Dash, and was going to do a few laps on my trail bike around afterward.

Thanks for the confirmation. If you see a guy on a white Pivot Mach 5.7 with red bits and a new black Pike on it, feel free to say hi.

Consider doing an out and back to Searle Pass, which starts and ends at the resort. Did it last week and it was a pretty short ride, and coming back down is a blast.

Good thing they're all wearing tall t's... You know, just in case you had any doubts about them being homos based solely on the fact that they're riding digglers.

Whenever I go through Copper on the CT and see the "diggler" signs I think of Dirk Diggler.

I never even knew what a diggler was or that those existed until I saw that video. But thanks for that, the trails do look pretty tame. I'll just have to go faster. I probably will do the ride to Searle Pass while I'm up there too, so thanks for the info.
