Colorado Springs Night Ride 1/8/2014 (<---look! I got the year right!)

It's dumping outside right this moment. I thought it might be good idea to start this thread early for thorough planning, but more importantly for the sake of rallying everyone's cold weather fortitude. I don't want to suggest a trail just yet. The final snowpack has yet to be revealed and that means everything. Wednesday could end up being another grill night for most of us with a couple crazy outliers that go out and get it done for the rest of us.

I'm in most likely. Chris, does your shop have fatties to rent? After hiking in Ute today I really want to try one.

Can't ride Wed night, however I am taking the day off Thursday and planing a monster of a ride if anyone would like to join for all or part. You ask where? If it rideable it will be ridden.

I am watching the weather the next few days before I decide where. All I know right now is I am leaving in the morning hitting several breweries, meeting my family for dinner along the ride and packing lights.

Cross Ride, then? Hopefully paths and trails won't be too bumpy.

This sounds like the making of a magnificent birthday Nick.

There is an new brewery we can add to the rotation. Ditch Trinity because there is a new little brewery on Garden of the Gods and Forge that Arin told me about called Red Leg. Super friendly people and they actually took my order and thanked me for my business (unlike trinity)

Red Leg is good stuff. No food like Trinity though.

What are you guys thinking for Wednesday? Most places will be sloppy, won't they?

I'm going to make the call for Pulpit Rock and should be good terrain despite conditions . So far it sounds like Arin, Kip, Kuhn, Brian, and I are in and it's super close to our houses except Kip . Plus B/kip we can show you HFS and all the other cool shit we have found.

With the list of who's coming I'm guessing everyone else is riding to the ride? I want to try coming through Ute to get there so could we meet on the West side of Pulpit somewhere? It doesn't have to be in the Costco area parking lot, but somewhere on that side of the park.

Is this squish ride or could I get away with fixed and rigid? My squish is minus a front brake.

Wow jack. I'd say you'd want a freewheel at least. A few tech trails getting mixed in. I believe MOST of this ride you could conquer though. You, not me. You da man.

Glad you guys had fun hopefully I can join again in 2 weeks.

If you have Google Earth installed then I have proof for you. Possibly one of the screwyist routes we've done. Jaydude and I just couldn't get ourselves to go home.
