Colorado Springs Mountain Bike Clubs ???

Hey, I'm new to the area and was wondering if there were any clubs or groups of regulars that ride in COS area, even Denver. I've been riding by myself and thats getting a little old.

    Thanks!

What kind of riding are you into? It's not really a club, but there is a group of us that used to (before the time change) meet up on Tuesdays to ride.
A trail thatís too difficult wouldnít exist because itíd never be used. But, trails can exist thatíre too difficult for you.

    Uh Hello,
    Can you say Sunday.
If we can crank the heat up it will only be a matter of days before the ride.

    Dam,
    Bikes are FUN

I'm just into some average trail riding. I usually ride the blues at palmer park, some diamonds when I'm feelin' a little crazy. Do you guys ride tuesday after work hours?

    I'll ride any time

We're a pretty diverse group--everything from people who suffer through trail rides to hit a few rocks to people who suffer through watching us hit a few rocks to enjoy a trail ride. We all enjoy a good beer though. Tuesdays at 4:30 was the old meeting time, but to Joe's point, DLST is going to be here next week so we should figure out if Tuesday is still the day (or a day) we want to ride.

Tuesday still works here. I'm looking forward to suffering through a ride for those rocks.

I used to be into "average trail riding" until about a year ago when I started riding with these guys. Now all I want to do is work on technical skills. What a difference a year has made.

No problem. Keep an eye out for any Springs rides. They usually get posted Monday night or Tuesday morning.

Yup, and it's a good idea to keep an eye on the board up until about 3:50 before a 4:30 ride because last year there were several last minute weather changes.

The current plan is 3/11/08 at 4:30 at the bathrooms (which is the western most parking lot in Palmer Park just past the Paseo gate). If the weather/conditions suck, this will change.

The usual turnout is ~10 people, but there were several 20+ rides last summer. In the past, newbies were told to bring the beer...

... and if we just ...

    sinn10304,
I have thur-sat off and am at best a intermediate trail rider. Send me a pm if you want to meet up sometime. I do a lot of palmer park dawn patrols do to my work schedule (I work nights) and the blues with a touch of black are about my riding peak. I've only ridden with the Infelxables once cause of my schedule, but they WILL give you a lesson in technical riding for sure! See this thread Holy Rollers for a prime example.
    Cheers!

Sorry we didn't get to ride with you and Dave more. We got antsy and had to get to Templeton where the tech is continuous and superb...such good conditions!

I was originally thinking mountain bikes, but we could do roller skates if you wanted. Maybe scooters? [T10irons voice] How about your sister? [/voice]

Seriously though, as mentioned above, it's a diverse group. I am slow and ride a big bike. JoeMTBRColorado is fast and rides a tiny little bike . Nickle has a different bike for every day of the week and rides wheelies the whole time. We usually end up on Templeton at some point but how we get there seems to vary ride to ride.
