    Co riding in April

Looks like I will be making a trip to Denver for work at the end of this April, and would really like to get some nice riding in. Looks like you guys are about 60 degrees F in April. Are the trails still gonna be snow covered?

Where are the best/closest areas to research for riding? Closest lift-assisted mountain? ideally I'd like to get some DH in (our selection in Az is quite limited), but XC/singletrack stuff works well also.

Any suggestions/info is much appreciated. I don't know much about the area, but have heard great things.

No lifts are open in April, unless you want to ski..

April is a funny month. It could be sunny and warm, it could be a nasty blizzard.

Check the weather and post before you head out and we could tell you what is not covered with snow.

Conditions aside, can you recommend some areas close to Denver that I research riding for? DH, XC, whatever.

Second on these trails. You'll want to plan to ride near Golden, Boulder, and Lyons. They are 20-35-50 minutes or so from downtown and have multiple options. Get a local trails book or stop in a shop and ask for advice on trail conditions.

Buffalo creek is 75 minutes from Denver. Mostly smootherish single track, although there is a sick tech trail there now that requires good skills. Youtube it. The Colorado trail flows through there and you can ride a lot of miles. Google a trail map via front range mountain bike patrol.

Forget gravity riding unless you go to Moab and do a shuttle up to Porcupine rim, just 6 hours from D-Town.
