    Check this out.

I'm not currently affiliated with this organization and have no info beyond what I am posting here (it was forwarded by a friend), but figured it would make sense to post this on the FR forum:

Dear friends of Bicycle Douglas County,
Are you a mountain biker? Would you be willing to help Highlands Ranch
Metro District develop part of a 100 acre site into a mountain bike terrain
park that would be available to everyone in the county & metro area? What
type of terrain? Is there a need for this type of park? Cost value? Send
    your comments to me.

If you can volunteer some time to help with this project, please contact me
    ASAP!

    Chair, Bicycle Douglas County

I do have some pics, actually - I found out that I'm not much in the way of photog, but it's the thought that counts, right?

    Let's see -

1 - DWF and DWF Jr (red lid), along with Funkmaster aka "Hellroy"

2 - DWF taking the best approach to that god awful drop to uphill known as the "Diving Board"

    3 - DWF dropping in at Bartlett's

4 - Jr. doing the same.

    5 - DWF dropping a different line at Bartlett's

    Some more pics

    1- Jr. at Bartlett's

2 - Me around the corner at Bartlett's.

3 - Jr. and I (along with ibmkid on the right) checking out a line in the Superbowl at Bartlett's

4 - Jr. rolling into the line above, taken from where I am standing in the first pic. DWF is standing below to catch him, should things go awry.

5 - Capt. Kirk, aka ibmkid negotiating the rough section near the bottom of Porc Rim

    And a few more:

1 - Jr. about to chin-butt the top cap of his stem

2 - Jr. going back for vindication

3 - DWF about to clean the ugly spot on the Ribbon.

4 - Jr. taking a tech line near the end of Porc Rim

DWF has really stepped it up. That boy... errr... man can ride.

Uh oh - don't get Sr. started.

Jr. appears to believe that he's developed the ability to see crashes before they happen - or at least he did before buffing his stem cap with subcutaneous tissue. DWF, on the otherhand, has only a fist behind his beard - a fist which will reduce any offending stem caps, rocks, logs or small fur-bearing woodland creatures to mere rubble (or a thick pudding - like consistency) before they get anywhere near his teeth.

I'm kinda attached to my teeth.

Technically not a crash...I don't recall him even dabbing...

    Now that's funny. Fist beard.

Just for the record, I'm all for armor and there were some things I wouldn't let Jr. hit because I felt he didn't have the right safety equipment for the risks involved. No one can see an accident coming and all the gear in the world can't protect you from tragedy in what is an inherently risky sport. At the same time, I have different gear requirements if I'm riding within my own comfort zone or if I'm riding outside of it. Jr. is an exceptionally talented rider and his comfort zone is much higher than mine. This is a cause of constant friction for us. If you notice in the Bartlett pics, I'm fully armored, full face & all. And none of those pictures look near as gnar as it does in person.

My dental crown was tingling just looking at the pics

I was strangley motivated to look up the Spanish expression for "balls of steel" after looking at some of those shots.

    Apparently it's "testículos de acero".

    Sick.
