    Cause for celebration?

    http://edition.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/....ap/index.html

I'd be inclined to say yes. Too bad it didn't burn 20 years ago.

Actually, I think my troll side got the best of me - I can't stand their music, but wouldn't deny that they've got talent and a large following.

Jeebus!!! The greatest band EVER, is Led Zeppelin, maybe the Stones, though I'm weary of both. B52's don't even make the top 100. They'e, like, hanging out around bottom with Boy George. Greatest band playing today (other than the Stones, retire already) IMHO is QOTSA....probably just because they've modernized Led's style....

Dave Grohl can do no wrong (musically, of course)

I've started listening to Rise Against recently - they've got alot of good stuff, it's kind of cool to find a band that isn't well known, yet has more than a couple of good songs out.

And one more thing - everyone knows that Spinal Tap is the greatest band of all time.

I was hoping that you were being sarcastic, you just never can tell. With that said, I find listening the B52's music about as enjoyable as eating stewed cat turds...

Yes, and let's not forget Tenacious D or that Jack Black has the potential to be the Zappa of this generation if he'd just quit hitting the bong for a few hours....

I figured you were kidding cuz' you didn't look like an unshaven crossdresser to me.

Nonetheless, I prescribe 8-hours of Social Distortion, preferably their namesake album and "Somewhere between Heaven & Hell". They've gone soft in their old age so avoid the new stuff...I hate optimistic punk rock...

Just thinking about the D gets me laughing!

"How 'bout, the power...to move you!"

"How's it going, are you flowing?"

"Look out baby, he's got the tools!"

"I love ya baby but all I can think about is, kielbasa sausage, your butt cheeks is warm. I check my dipstick, you need lubrication honey, my kielbasa suasage just has to perform!"

I'm f''n cracking up just thinking about those clowns.

Fugazi in concert these days. It's like some jam band is touring under the Fugazi name, doing 20 minute versions of what used to be 90 second songs. Just about put me to sleep...
and IBMkid - you should've said teh...greatest... band...EVAR somehow the mispellings convey sarcasm much better...
I wouldn't put them in the same category as Boy George, they had a lot more staying power than he did. Ahem, not that I know from personal experience...

Uh... you just used "Boy George" and "staying power" in the same sentence.

    Just thought you should know.

As long as you're talking about cool bands that could, and are doing it again.

    http://www.campervanbeethoven.com/

Playing Friday through Monday in a town near you. It's fun to watch them morph from Camper to Cracker and back again.

Been listening to too much Barry White lately, just got staying power on the brain. I really should fix that...

If he quit that, how could he be the modern day Zappa? Pull that tube, Jack!

Oh, and I only have one B52 cd, Rock Lobster.

Best band ever, and doing it again: Pixies.

Sadly, I've missed every opportunity to see them in the last 10 years.
Take the long cut, we'll get there eventually.
