    the new bridge

Ok so heres the dealio, we all know that the 6fter is butter so for sunday our goal will be to build a 10 ft drop, i will buy wood sat and chop it into little pieces so that we can use it on sunday. so thats why we need a ladder bc i dont know anyone that can get a 10ft bridge up that high prolly be about 13 ft tall bc of the landing

Todd that sounds sweet! I'm all for that and will bring my armor and full face on Sunday as well as a few shovels if I can find any. For the 10ft drop I suggest that you try and make it so that you can get a decent amount of speed for it, cuz from the looks of the 6ft drop itd be a bit challenging to get speed, and as we know hitting drops with speed is just funner.

Todd depending on how I make it up there and what car Im in I could bring a dozen or two fence pickets if that would help at all for like the actual ladder links.... lemme know.

Hey Todd just take the chain saw to a lawnmower type shop and have them sharpen it! At the very most it is $5. It'll be brand new again. Can't wait to see pics of the 10 footer!

There is a feed and tackle shop in Bergen Park that should have what ya need. They can sharpen your chain, and they also rent all kinds of unneccesary but waycool powertools with loud engines. they are located next to the Whippletree resturaunt, by the roundabout, wild oats, etc. Be careful though, its not a place for the underpowered.

2 people hit the skinny, it was sick! They nailed it. The new 10' Drop is sick as hale.
I was the first to hit it, and then SIN hit it up on my bike and Kware showed us how it's done on the hard tail and nailed it like it was nuttin' beotch. and the rest follwed suit.
It was just a heck of a fun day for everyone, props go out for all the hard work everyone put in. I just cant wait to get back up for more work to be done on the wall ride and other stuff coming. Ideas are flowing like madness in everyone's brain I'm sure.
Thanks be to you Dave (Rally Blue) for giving me one piece of advice. Just go for it.
I did, and nailed the huge drop first try.

Good fun - I'm getting all giddy just reading the last couple of posts, that drop was incredibly smooth, I still haven't even hit the smaller drop yet (the big one was so sweet I didn't really care to) - looking forward to getting back up there on Friday, I'll probably try to meet you up there about 11:30 or so Todd, and I should also be able to swing Sunday. Looking forward to seeing some pics - I'll get the few that we took with Wes's (Black Yeti ASX) camera once he sends them over to me. Thanks again guys...

That was definitely a fun day. Im glad I finally got the confidence to hit the big drop a few times. It was cool meeting billy, josh, wes, and everybody else. I've got like 30 shots to post up, not all are too good but you'll get the idea, as well as probably 2 dozen 15-25second short films that will be up tonight or tomorrow.

I was just about to reply to your post about your early crash. That'd very well have been the end of my day, period. You got up and hit it a couple more times... more than I would have done.

Well, I'd have to say you may be right about the bike. I'd say today was a bit out of it's realm, component-wise. I keep waiting for these Bontrager race (yip, race as in xc, light) cranks to explode, but I've never felt them give, and it also might not be a safe load level for this fork either.. long term, it's NOT a comfortable level for my arms. Maybe I'll buy another fork first so I can atleast 'break it in' before I get a frame.

Ahh, come on Tony, you got how many more years of school? Plenty of time for homework.
And what's wrong w/ your fork, KW? So long as the landing's smooth, I think it'll work for a few more feet o huckage. Or at least, mine'll have to, I got no $$ for new frame any time soon... The question is, how big is too big for an air shock?

I think 5" is plenty for the big drop (and bigger) - so long as the tranny's reasonable. My Firefly on the AC1 felt fine yesterday and I've taken it off 9 footers with flatter landings without feeling like the fork was taking too much abuse. If you haven't seen it yet, you should check out Russ Morrell's section in "Statement" - he's riding a hardtail on the Rampage course, and looks smoother than many of the guys on FS big-hit bikes. It's all about speed and transitions... Regardless, it is impressive to see Jim railing the HT on the stuff we're riding, I might have to break out the PX Pitbull at some point...or not
