    Buffalo Creek route mileage

Could someone give me some idea of mileage and difficulty for a few routes

    Start and End at Scraggy

CT, TW, 543, Baldy, MG, SW, 543, Shingle, CT

CT, Redskin, GH, Baldy, Morrison, Shingle, CT

CT, GM, CT, Redskin, Lower GH, 543, Shingle, CT

    Other ideas to consider?

    Curtis

I would say that all of those routes are generally in the 20-28 mile range.

    Good long loop is 543 > Shinglemill > CT West > Green Mountain > CT West > 543 to Wellington Lake > 560 to CT > CT East > Redskin > Gashouse > Charlie's > Sandy Wash

Close to 40 miles with that one.

^^ drop Buck's & climb Strawberry just before you hit Charlie's for an extra grunt.

EDIT: too big........starting at Scraggy, eh?
CT west to Tramway, 543 to Morrison to Shinglemill to CT east, throw in the Burn if you're feeling it at the end.
    Might be around 18m.

    543 > Shinglemill > Morrison > 543 > Baldy > Gashouse > Charlies > Sandy

That will be close to 18 miles.

    Can't you goofs read?
He wants to start and end at Scraggy.
I say anything with as little of the roads as possible.
No matter what you do up there, you'll be smiling.

I'm pretty sure wellswheels, exhaustpipe and I started at Scraggy, did CT to GM loop and back once and it was 18-20ish. Felt like more!

Damn. OP is CRAZY. Gotta start at the BOTTOM... whatever loop(s) you decide on.

Hold on now, 543/Baldy/Charlies/Sandy is about 16 miles. Adding Shinglemill and Morrison would have to make it closer to 20. You can do 543/Baldy/Charlies/Homestead/Charlies again/Sandy. Then you get to do Charlies twice. Before the reroute, when Charlies was the most fun, I would do a couple loops.

Starting at Scraggy is not worthy of my time

All Buff Creek rides must end with Sandy Wash.

Strawberry Jack is a worthy end to a ride as well, and its not a bad climb if that's how you want to start your ride.

Thoughts on which direction(CW CCW) to ride GM if we do this ride.

Yep trying to avoid doing much 543 but would like to get into the burn area.
What about starting Shinglemill TH? Is there parking available there?

Would that satisfy SS's idea of starting at BOTTOM

Shinglemill TH is up on the ridge. Does NOT satisfy the requirement.

How about this from Pine parking lot:

    Strawberry Jack
    Homestead
    Gashouse
    543
    CO around Green Mt
    Baldy
    Buck Gulch

An alternate would be to backtrack on the CO trail to either TH or Shinglemill, then back up to Baldy.

    Note: Personally, I hate Gashouse!
