    Broken Derailleur

Whats up everyone. I broke my rear derailleur on Tuesday and was got a use X9 long cage. It's replacing a XO medium. What's the up and down of both....Should I stick with a Medium? Any info will help. Thanks.

How many rings do you have up front?

A longer cage is usually to accommodate a wider range of gears. A shorter cage gives less chain slap, and is harder to catch on stuff. I basically use a short cage for one ring, and a Med cage for a 2 ring set up, I have no use for a long cage.

That said if the long works... it works!
