    Of bikes and pizza

No, not 4cross bike, Red Cross bike. I saw this chained up outside a restaurant down in Denver. No one there knew its history. Googling got me zip. I picture this being ridden in World War II by some nurse or doctor, its canvas panniers filled with drugs and whatnot.

Check out the seatpost. Crude but adjusts in two directions at once...in the field. And suspension!

Imagine relying on this for your front brake:

    Got your panniers here:

Oh yeah, the pizza. Joeys on East Colfax, still the best New York thin crust in town.

    Of bikes and pizza

That's pretty awesome. I'd yield to it no matter which direction it was going.

Nice ride, repost on the VRC forum. Love the original paint, unrestored history.

For sure. Checked it out when I was in school once. A teacher turned us onto it.

You wouldn't believe how heavy those bikes are, before they get packed

This is a Swiss Army bike. They used these bikes for many years, built solid and easy to maintain. Now they have more modern bikes, but use them a lot less.
Whole units with all gear used them to get around in rural areas.

The "license plate" is the Swiss flag with the M for military.

I'm waiting for Funrover to do a ride report with one of these bikes. Come on FR, get one!
