    Bike path, sunset, beer

Hours of unexpected business cell phone conversation resulted in my bagging whatever ride I could drive to. So...off to my local bike path! Definitely better than nothing, no drive needed, actually fairly scenic (for a bike path). A nice sunset and beer afterwards and my townie (a 2003 Sugar 2+ with vee brakes) wanted to go out for a night ride. When I get lights maybe.

First pic looks my ride today

After 1.5 mi of "joggers" ST just out my door I'm forced to hit the pavement for 2 mi. The bridge looks like the first "underpath" on my route to the Foothills. After that, it was a glorious afternoon on mostly deserted trails, despite the smoke from a wildfire west of me

After ride beer... Sierra Nevada "Celebration Ale"

I rarely ride the bike path in my pics and if I do I go right towards the mountains and Standley Lake. This time I went left and it just headed off into suburbia, but through a lot of open space. I didn't see any links to anything resembling singletrack but I did see areas I'd never even driven past. I have in mind what trails I'd like to have right outside my door but I'll take what I can get when the evening is as beautiful as it was last night.
