Ascending Steep Straight (A.S.S) fire roads

Anybody up for cardio on Wednesday or Thursday night? Based on jradin's scouting we could ride up Towers Road. Start time approximately 5:30pm. Meeting at JJs and carpooling uo to Soderburg.

    Takers?

Out this week. Will be at the PUSH clinic. If conditions are good, I could be in for next week.

Is this still on? I'm wondering if I should rush home or not.

Also, can we change the name of the ride to Another Stupid Snowstorm?

Awesome! The answer is: A.S.S won't stop us going up another A.S.S (aweful steep slope). Yep. Mike and Klaus will be there at least.JJs at 6 pm.

Great news, but I left my winter gloves in my car - the car which is in the body shop at Dellenbach.

I'll see if I can dig something else up for hand warmth, but don't wait around for me . . .

Gloves wouldn't be an issue... And I'll ride flats.

Hey I took the shoes out of the car before the shop stole it so I'll be at JJs at 5:55.

Tower Road is all dirt road. Southridge and Audra Culver are also dirt road. Everything else in HTMP is singletrack (some hiker only, but mostly multi-use). Tower Road ends at some towers and control shed at the top of the ridge and they keep it plowed to get trucks up there.

See this thread for a recent ride report with pics:

This was an awesome ride! Thanks to everybody who did show up. Great turn out: 8 riders in total.

A coating of snow on Towers either hid the ice or provided a layer of traction. In any case - we might it up just fine. Hike a bike happened only when the snow got deep and chunky. One spot on the road and a few more on the trails.

A hoot! Thanks everybody for joining.

Yeah, good stuff. I need to run flats next time though.

Does anyone have light recommendations? 110 lumens doesn't cut it.

Up towers, down Spring Creek (IN THE SNOW ) to Herrington and then back on the towers road.

In a camera. I'm not sure who has 'em but mine never left my camelbak so I can't be of any help.
