    Arizona freeriders looking for advice

We are planning to spend labor day week looking for the next best thing to Whistler in your great state of Colorado. We think Keystone is probably it. Agreed? Any camping recommendations or other ski resort recommendations for us? Thanks very much and AZ freeride info and help freely given when needed (this winter!)

Camping is plentiful in Colorado. If you are going to Keystone, drive up the Montezuma Rd. just east of the resort. There are forest service campgrounds along the way.

Keystone is the place to go. Alternatives are Sol Vista (Granby) and Winterpark. Sol Vista is more high speed fun and Winterpark is for beginners. Keystone to Winterpark is probably an hour all told. Sol Vista is another 30 min.

So you might want to make Keystone your headquarter for the week and hit Sol Vista over the weekend. Why weekend? First: Keystone is practically closed on Labor Day weekend. Climax race. Second: Sol Vista only runs on the weekends. But it is free!

Camping: As per Rontele's post. Just follow the road past the resort. After a mile or so you get into National Forest. They have a limited number of primitive camp sites (no facilities - but Keystone is close) right a few yards off the road. During the week space should not be an issue.

Kaba Klaus pretty much planned your week for you, that's what I would have said.
You have just been mentally Rick Roll'd. Yup you're thinking about it right now aren't you? Don't fight it.
