As of last Sunday, the jeep road is closed and should be until about june 12 (I think that's what I heard). It makes for quite the out n back, but the trail was in great shape.

With a little bit of climbing (ok, a lot of climbing) you can use the roads to make a loop. You still get to ride the best singletrack in the park and get to see all the best scenery from the trail.

I'm assuming you'll be riding it clockwise. I don't know how difficult the climbing on the road would be on the road if you go counter-clockwise. Significant I would think.

I did a counter - clockwise loop a couple of weeks ago. I was on my singlespeed and I'm glad I did the trail first. The road downhill to 119 was fun. Be careful of the buses on Highway 6, there isn't much shoulder for a bike.
