Wtf would it come back to haunt them? Do you think the intolerance in Monument is so high somebody will mess with them?
A man must have enemies and places he is not welcome. In the end we are not only defined by our friends but those against us.

Dude - don't be so ignant, we all know that God is probably gonna send a tsunami or a fleet of 747s to take out Monument and the Springs for tolerating the presence of our Ichthyophobic counterparts.

HA! How's that for a wicked cool double entendre, what with the oblique Christianity reference and all?

... and if we just ... dont worry

we have all been mtn biking for a long time. Ive ridden in red neck conservative areas before. Its not like we are all going to stop and have sex in the middle of the trail. We also have an active denver police department officer coming on the ride. Anyone threatens us we will just have them arrested! lol!

I didn't see the ride listed on the site. I'd like to make it...but my kids are flying into town that day.

Why do people wig out when someone announces a group ride or event where some of the riders will have views that differ from the "norm"? Is it just fear of something outside "the comfort zone"?

Intolerance does NOT equal "Christianity". Intolerant Christians don't "get" Christianity.

The world has perverted what it means to be a "Christian" and plenty of religious zealots, hypocrites, legalistic fools, morons and hate mongers have done their fair share to destroy anything good that was left of the public image of "Christianity".

Dang it...ultimately "religion" and legalism is what got Jesus killed!

I'm not a Christian - I'm a follower of Jesus - I hate no man (or at least I try really hard not to - but I'm still human).

All you need now is an Indian, a construction worker, and a couple of soldiers!

I was gonna say this would be as lame as a singles ride for the hetero folk... but that would actually be cool.

    So, uh, carry on.

    Word. Mad props.

What kind of riding is there in Monument?

Not that, most likley. He might have meant because of some high-school phallic symbolism of a name like "Monument". You know, the way 7th graders giggle when they see pics of the Washington Monument, or the way my 12 year old kept telling me everything in Arches National Park looked like wangs.
    yep...

    monument

You basically ride off of the Mt herman rd and around the monument rock area. Theres one ball buster trail there called the Stoopid Trail. Everything else is relatively easy.

Way to highjack and throw in your christian/non-christian views.

Original poster is obviously looking for more gay mountainbikers to join. He didn't say hetero's are welcome or not, but his impication is obvious. He's looking for gay mtb'ers.

I don't think anybody wigged out here but you. I think the level of sarcasm and humor is good, there's no anti-gay thing going on in this thread. Just ask the gay guys.

If your just riding around Palmer Lake or something I could see your point, pull out a map you will find the level of riding in this area is enough to blow out even the most agressive cardio monkey. I am familiar with the area and do not know of Stoopid Trail, is this your pet name for it?
What level of ride are you looking at doing?

Zeke - This thread appears well enough back on track despite my insidious and apparently not so ingenious extremist right wing agenda to gain control of this gay thread for our Hate Monger Lord. Can't win or lose with some people...hey man - I was simply pointing out that not all of us so called "Christians" are haters...cool?

    Back to you "boys"...

Nice little rant there, bCO. 'Course it would equally apply if you replaced "christian" with "muslim".

Cool. I'm not a rainbow warrior, (not that there's anything wrong with that). I just did not see this thread as anyhing different than someone trolling for singles, divorcee's, amptee's on mountainbikes, etc.

    Later!

    Icegeek wins!

Just a few pics from out club trip out to Fruita last weekend. And yes, that's one of the guys (albiet a local) clearing some of the nasty Horsethief connector (he crashed halfway down, but wins the ballsy award for trying).
